Last updated: 1 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Kalaakari ("Kalaakari", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit or place an order on kalaakari.store. Kalaakari is a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Mythili, based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. We are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data we process, and we handle it in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 read with the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, and other applicable Indian law.
1. Personal data we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and shipping and billing address when you create an account or place an order.
- Personalisation content: any text, names, photos, artwork or design instructions you upload or send us so that we can make your customised item.
- Order information: the items you buy, order value, and order history.
- Payment information: payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered on Razorpay's secure systems. We do not see or store your full payment-instrument details.
- Technical and usage data: basic device, browser and site-usage information collected through cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
2. How and why we use your data
We use your personal data only for clearly defined purposes:
- To create your account and process, produce and fulfil your orders;
- To make your personalised item using the content you provide;
- To arrange delivery through our courier partner and to send you order, dispatch and tracking updates by email or WhatsApp;
- To process payments and refunds through Razorpay;
- To respond to your questions, requests and complaints;
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations;
- With your consent, to send you occasional offers and updates — which you can opt out of at any time.
3. Consent and your choices
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent and for the legitimate purposes of fulfilling the orders and services you ask for. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by writing to us at houseofmythili@gmail.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, and may mean we can no longer provide certain services (for example, completing an order).
4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers, strictly as needed to run the store:
- Razorpay — to process payments and refunds;
- Shiprocket and the delivery courier — to ship your order and provide tracking;
- Our website and database hosting provider — to securely operate kalaakari.store;
- Analytics providers — only where enabled and with your consent.
We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data only for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes above, including any period required to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations. When it is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.
6. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it;
- request correction, completion, updating or erasure of your personal data;
- withdraw your consent at any time;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity;

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to address any incident promptly. In the event of a personal data breach, we will act in accordance with our obligations under applicable law.
